Milk film

To reduce the cost of milk in stores, plastic wrap is used to package milk and other dairy products. It is much cheaper than other types of packaging for dairy products. Milk in plastic bags is 30-50% cheaper than in Tetra-Pak packages. Milk producers have one global challenge - to maximize shelf life and to pack the product in sturdy packaging.

For packaging dairy products, three-layer co-extrusion films are used with a black layer in the material structure. The thickness of such films is 70-90 microns. Each of the layers has its own purpose and contains special additives. The black layer creates a barrier to light penetration and significantly extends the shelf life of dairy products. Depending on the technology chosen, this layer can be internal or adjacent to the milk.

The white outer layer is designed for bright, full color printing using the most modern printing technologies. A special additive is introduced into the same layer, which increases the "slipperiness" of the film, which is important for work on modern packaging equipment.

If the inner layer is black, then the layer in contact with milk is transparent, made of pure, chemically neutral polyethylene. In some cases, this layer is tinted gray, which gives the package a more aesthetic appearance, eliminating the external contrast between the white outer and black barrier layers.
